well, for us it goes: white, then 2 stripes, orange, 2 stripes, yellow, 2 stripes, blue, two stripes, purple, four stripes, green, four stripes, brown, four stripes, the black-white belt (AKA the "skunk belt"), red-black ("devil belt"), then the many black belts. we have belt testing once every two months, and i think the highest you can be promoted is two stripes above what you already have. so i'm a blue with 2 stripes, if i take my test and do really well, the highest i can get promoted is purple 1-stripe ^^; buuut that also means learning new kata and stuff. i think whoever is trying for black needs to have a black in weapons, too...so yeah, it'll be awhile till i'm a brown, but that's okay =D

hey fellow shotokan-er =) embarrassingly enough, i'm only advanced blue >_< not because i suck but because after i got there my parents made me quit cause my chem grade was dropping...i plan to continue this summer though! what about you? (oh, ~spyra is also in shotokan, but she's a black belt :3)

oh yeah, and welcome to deviantart!
